Brian has been captivated by maps for as long as he can remember. It wasn’t until his first summer break from college that he had his first experience making his own after accepting a survey technician summer job that turned into three years. After bouncing back and forth between majors ranging from civil engineering to zoology, Brian settled on mathematics. After working his way through school as a land surveyor and teaching abroad as an English teacher, he enrolled into graduate school as a Geographer to continue his passion for cartography. It was during this time he honed his skills in spatial analysis through GIS tools and his background in land surveying. In his current role as Geospatial Services Manager, Brian continues to find new ways to share spatial information in intuitive, aesthetically pleasing maps and interactive online applications. Brian and his wife live in the mountains of Wapiti, Wyoming halfway between Cody and Yellowstone. They enjoy spending their free time exploring the vast expanse of public lands around their home with their two dogs and the occasional 36-hour date night in Denver.
