Pete Szobonya, PE

Currently serving as a Project Manager at T-O Engineers, Pete has over 40 years of experience of planning and design of a variety of small to large-scale Federal Aid projects and local agency municipal projects. Starting his career in 1982, he has served in the role of a lead designer, project engineer, and project manager on roadway and bridge projects. He has managed development of a variety of projects from the early conceptual stage through preparation of construction plans, specifications, and engineer’s estimates. Pete’s design experience includes roadway design, noise barrier walls, utility relocation coordination, storm drainage facilities, right-of-way acquisition coordination, traffic signal design coordination, construction traffic control, and preparation of environmental permit applications. He has also been on value engineering review teams for highway projects and has performed quality control reviews. Pete has also managed environmental clearance efforts for highway projects in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, working with various agencies such as the Federal Highway Administration, US Fish and Wildlife, US Army Corps of Engineers, and state agencies. Since 1993, Pete has been involved with numerous projects for ITD, including the Idaho GARVEE projects for Connecting Idaho Partners.
