Due to the microbrew beer boom in recent years, the areas between Homedale, Wilder, Greenleaf, and Parma, Idaho have seen a lot of fields converted to hops in the last five years. Once hops are harvested, they must be separated from the vine (or picked), dried, and baled. Some beers used these dried hops in their beers, some use pelletized hops, where the dried hops are compressed into about 1/3 of their normal size.
T-O was involved in working on diversion channels, erosion control and other miscellaneous civil design and surveying work for the contractor of the Dixie Drain Phosphorous Removal Facility in Parma, Idaho which officially opens on Wednesday. This is a project over nine years in the making, in which city officials, congressional leaders and environmental groups have been working together to make this project come to fruition.
T-O Engineers is grateful to have been a part of the I-84 Meridian Road Interchange project, recently selected as the ASCE Region 8 Project of the Year. Working with Parametrix and the Idaho Transportation Department, T-O oversaw all of the survey, right-of-way, utilities, and hydraulics of the project while working within a very tight deadline. The new corporate office, located at 2471 South Titanium Place in the Silverstone Corporate Center, held the ceremony on Wednesday, June 29.
Friday evening, Friedman Memorial Airport celebrated the life and career of engineer, Todd C. Combs. A year after unveiling the expanded remodeled airport terminal, the new Todd C. Combs Management & Operations Center was commemorated. Combs had dedicated much of his professional career to the airport, consulting on taxiway relocation first in 2001. He was working on the airport’s safety project at the time of his death.
T-O Engineers is excited to announce that we were ranked 1st place out of 7 consultant submittals to provide on-call hydraulics review services to the Idaho Transportation Department District 3. This work is a new direction for ITD where T-O will be reviewing hydraulic work products authored by other consultants for compliance with ITD standards. Typical hydraulic reviews would be for bridges, culverts and roadway drainage.
MERIDIAN, ID – T-O Engineers is excited to announce the publication of the Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) Synthesis 71 – Airport Safety Risk Management Panel Activities and Outcomes. Aviation Project Manager, Nathan Cuvala, PE, proposed the topic for research and served on the project oversight panel.
“I am excited for the release of the finished publication as it will help all airports better understand and participate in the FAA’s Safety Risk Management (SRM) panel process,” said Cuvala.

The new office located at 121 W. Pacific Ave., Suite 200, will begin the ceremony at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan., 21.
