Cave Bay Community Services, Inc. (CBCS) unveiled an expanded, fully permitted and compliant wastewater treatment, storage and land application facility to the public on October 8, 2015 . The facility which is located in the Cave Bay community, six miles north of Worley, Idaho, will provide wastewater treatment for up to 212 homes.

In 2011, CBCS was faced with a potential catastrophe – wastewater in the 2.6 million gallon lagoon was close to breaching a low portion of the embankment which, had it overflowed, could have sent wastewater into Coeur d’Alene Lake.

Dusty Obermayer, PLS, and Coeur d’Alene Survey Manager for T-O Engineers, has officially been appointed by the Governor’s office to the Idaho Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors.

The Board’s mission statement is “safeguard life, health, and property by assuring that those who practice the professions of engineering and land surveying attain and maintain competence in those professions."

The T-O Engineers Aviation Services Group has been working diligently for over two years in order to complete a $34 million project that will bring the Friedman Memorial Airport into compliance with federal safety standards.

T-O has teamed with local non-profit Advocates Against Family Violence (AAFV) to provide a $4 million expansion to Hope Plaza.

Since inception, Hope Plaza provided nearly 1,500 women and children shelter while AAFV provided 11,000 services to people in the community.

Hope Plaza II will serve as a multi-use, all-inclusive campus focused on providing victim assistance with the goal of becoming the premier domestic violence and sexual assault victim service center in the Treasure Valley/Idaho. The expansion will include:

In an industry dominated by men, being an engineer may not be the first thing that comes to mind when female students are asked what career path they want to take. According to the Congressional Joint Economic Committee only 14 percent of engineers are women.

In celebration of DiscoverE Engineers Week (formerly known as National Engineers Week) T-O’s own Harvin Flores and JR Norvell presented in front of their peers and community members about the importance of Engineering. Not only do both Flores and Norvell share a passion for engineering but they also share the role of President and Interim President of both the Idaho Society of Professional Engineers (ISPE) Southwest and Northern Idaho Chapters.

Pilots now have a smooth runway to land or take off from the Cascade Airport following completion of a $1.9 million runway reconstruction project.

Each year the citizens of North Idaho are invited to nominate individual business and community leaders. Twenty-six professionals under the age of 40 were awarded this year at a celebration in downtown Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
