Due to the microbrew beer boom in recent years, the areas between Homedale, Wilder, Greenleaf, and Parma, Idaho have seen a lot of fields converted to hops in the last five years. Once hops are harvested, they must be separated from the vine (or picked), dried, and baled. Some beers used these dried hops in their beers, some use pelletized hops, where the dried hops are compressed into about 1/3 of their normal size.
Over the last three years, T-O Engineers has had the opportunity to work on site designs for multiple hops facilities that are used throughout these processes. T-O Engineers recently completed a $6 million Hop Picker facility near Parma, Idaho. Currently T-O is working on two other Hop Picker facilities; the first Idaho Hop Pelletizer facility and a brewery/tasting room. T-O Engineers is excited to be a part of this growing industry!
